Name: John Dicks
Role: Scout Leader
Years of service: 10 Years
Likes: Canoeing, hiking and stargazing
Dislikes: Leaky canoes, wet weather and cloudy nights
John has a keen interest in canoeing and hiking, which has meant Scouts at 1st Hurdsfield get the chance to learn a range of canoe skills and to train for the challenging Macclesfield hike with confidence. Over his ten years, he has helped many young people (including his two sons) to achieve the Chief Scout award at silver and gold levels and he continues to devote his efforts to getting the best from the Scouts who attend the group
John is joined by Nick and Lee
Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running scout meetings and camps! All adult leaders have training and a CRB check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified.
If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders! You don’t have to be an expert in all-things-scouting – the only essential ingredient is wanting to have fun scouting!
