About us

Our aim at 1st Hurdsfield is to give our members an adventurous and fun time, to allow them to make new friends and to develop personal and team skills, and to experience new challenges. We also aim to build links with the schools, churches and community around us.

We maintain a tradition of welcoming all young people. We do not have waiting lists for any of our sections, and we can support applicants from low income families. We don’t want to see anyone deprived of the chance to enjoy Scouting because of their circumstances.

We are home to the following sections, with boys and girls being welcome:-

Beaver Scout Colony (ages 6-8 years).

Cub Scout Pack (ages 8-10 ½ years).

Scout Troop (ages 10 ½ – 14 ½ years).

Our home is the Scout Hall; a brick built building standing in its own grounds which gives opportunity for activities in a safe and secure environment. We have our own minibus, and plenty of equipment to support our outdoor and indoor activities.

Our leaders our dedicated to bringing best out of our members, and to provide a great experience of Scouting.

For more information on each section, its leaders, and its programme of activities see the separate section pages.
